Backpacking is a cornerstone of adventure activity.  There is a beautiful simplicity in reducing your possessions to what can be carried on your back.  Being removed from the “noise” of the frontcountry provides a rhythm that allows you to focus on more significant aspects of life.  In addition to simplicity and perspective, backpacking presents its share of challenge.  Though difficult at times, there is something profound about enduring this physical challenge, and sharing your burdens with others.  All of these things combine to make the backcountry environment an excellent place to commune with God, develop leadership, or learn about self and deepen relationships.
